Fraisthorpe Beach The Cow Shed, Bridlington, YO15 3QU

Event by Sighthound Social Club

Fraisthorpe Beach

Public  · Anyone on or off Facebook

It's time to hit the beach and enjoy a morning out with the sand on our paws and the sea breeze in our ears. So come along and join us!

We will be meeting on the beach so get your hound taxi's parked up and paid for and aim to meet us from about 10:30am.
Parking is £1 for 1 hour, £3 for 3 hours or £5 all day.

To avoid queue's at the pay point you can pay online or via their app, 20p surcharge for use (location 5371): https://www.connectcashlessparking.com/locationDetail

The best meeting place is on the beach from the car park and then walk to the right and stand just after the old concrete beach defence blocks.

This will mean we are in an area where there's lots of space and we will then look to start walking at 11am or as close to that as we can, allowing for any stragglers.

Our plan is to walk for 30-40 minutes, have a stop for chats, treats, a paddle in the sea to give feet and paws a little rest for 20 minutes or so and then we will turn around and head back.

We do insist this is an on lead walk whilst with us, to ensure our dogs do not get over excited, and for new hounds to have a calm walk in a larger group.

There will be plenty of opportunity for anyone to let their hounds off lead if you decide to walk on your own afterwards - we know some of them like to have a run or play in the sea. But please ensure this is well away from our group.

Post walk we normally head to the Cow Shed Cafe who offer a wide variety of sandwiches and food options and there is plenty of space for us all to socialise afterwards. Bring your dog blankets with you, even camp chairs if you have them!

We look forward to seeing you and your four legged ones there.

Note : Fraisthorpe this Sunday

If anyone normally drives on the A166 & go via Stamford Bridge we’re letting you know that the road is completely closed

The official diversion is via A1079 to Shiptonthorpe Roundabout. There are roadworks on the A1079 as well at Hayton!! There are traffic lights at the junction of High Catton Road & A1079 that will take you back to the A166 via Stamford bridge & be fairly quiet to Driffield & Fraisethorpe.

Another way is to go to Pocklington & to Driffield

Thanks to Sally & Flora reminding us about this

Also anyone from Leeds might want to take the M62 round Beverly and up to Fraisthorpe not much difference in time
